Servings: 6-8 - Each serving: 3-4 tbsp
Grocery List:
Here’s what you need from the grocery store to make keto marinara sauce.
- 28 oz can Peeled San Marzano Tomatoes (No Sugar added)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Components:
Your kitchen will require the following
- Small blender
Chef’s Note: This recipe calls for San Marzano tomatoes, and we recommend you follow through with this. Since we are limited in what can be added to increase sweetness, specialty San Marzano tomatoes carry the brunt of the responsibility here. They are naturally ‘artisan and specialty’ grade tomatoes.
Directions:
- Re-sanitize your blender (since this marinara doesn’t require cooking)
- Puree the tomatoes in a small blender.
- Add in remaining ingredients and whip up in blender till all the oil visibly combines with the tomato puree.
- Taste your homemade marinara and fine-tune salt/pepper/herbs to your liking.
Chef’s Note: There is no pan heating or baking required for this marinara. Yes, you can bake it along with your final dish – but this sauce is good-to-go as is!
Macronutrients
Even though you aren’t going to eat straight marinara sauce (granted this one is tasty), we’ve included the macro breakdown per whole pan and 6-8 servings.
Be aware of your total carbohydrates when adding keto marinara to pizza and spaghetti recipes. The tomatoes present do contain carbs, as you can see below in the marinara macro breakdown.
NOTE: Net carbs are extremely low, due to the fiber in San Marzano tomatoes. We couldn't fit it in the table below and have it load properly on your phone, but net carbs per serving is only 3-4 grams.
