Keto Dutch Apple Pie

Dutch "apple" pie made with chyote flavored with Oooflavors Granny apple flavor concentrate! You would never know it wasn't real apple. 

 

Set oven to 350.

Crust: all made in food processor 

1 cup almond flour 

3 tbsp coconut flour

1tsp xanthan gum

1/2 tsp salt

4 tbsp chilled butter

1 oz cream cheese

1 egg

1 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar 

Optional: 1 scoop of TeamKeto Vanilla C8 powder. I added it to mine for extra flavor 

Add: almond flour, coconut flour, C8 powder, xanthan gum and salt pulse in processors, then add chilled butter and cream cheese, pulse till crumbly lastly add egg and apple cider vinegar. A dough will form. 

Remove from processor on to plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour or more. Remove from plastic wrap and place between two sheets of parchment paper. Roll dough out to desired thickness. Place in pie pan of choice, poke holes in bottom with a fork and bake for about 15 mins until a light golden brown. Cover edges with foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes until center is golden brown. 

Filling:

4 cups of chyotes peeled and diced and de seeded. Make sure they are all uniform pieces and not too thick.

2 lemons juiced 

2 tbsp cinnamon 

3/4 cup golden monkfruit 

30-40 drops of Oooflavors Granny Smith apple

1tsp of xanthan gum 

In a small sauce pan add chyote, lemon, monkfruit, and cinnamon. On medium heat bring to a boil. Turn heat down to low and add apple flavoring, let simmer until chyote is fork tender. Then add xanthan gum and bring to a boil 1 last time to thicken. 

Crumble: in food processor add

1/2 cup almond flour

3 tbsp golden monkfruit 

2 tbsp coconut flour 

3/4 tsp cinnamon 

4 tbsp chilled butter

Pulse till crumbly. 

In baked pie crust add chyote filling and add crumble on top. Place in oven for 8-10 minutes. 

Recipe makes 12 slices. 

Macros per slice: Calories-220, fat-19g, protein-6g, Net carbs-4g
